Providing our community with a variety of services and care, the County of Greene government is dedicated to making Greene County a better place to live and grow for ALL community members. The Greene County Human Services Department’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Program promotes opportunities for individuals with disabilities to lead full and productive lives within our community.
Each member of the department works hard to ensure that services and supports are provided to meet the needs of consumers with intellectual disabilities in the least restrictive setting possible. Their goal is to see that each of the individuals they serve can develop into active members of the community and live a life of quality.
“The IDD program works very well in collaboration with other human services programs and outside agencies to provide a holistic approach to assist people in obtaining the supports and services they need,” shares Deneen Shrader, the Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Program administrator. “We not only serve individuals who are directly eligible for our services, but we also work to connect their caregivers and families to supports and services that they may benefit from as well.”
Among the services they offer, the program oversees the funding streams that cover services to students with special needs following graduation, provide services to those with autism, and assist people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and autism to obtain employment supports and services in the community.
Individuals interested in services should contact the IDD Program at 724-852-5276 and ask to speak with Deneen Shrader to set up an initial intake. Individuals diagnosed with an intellectual disability, developmental disability, and/or autism may apply; other eligibility criteria will be determined upon intake.
