The 17th Annual Christmas Tree Extravaganza was held the week of December 2 – 7 at the Carmichaels First United Methodist Churches Fellowship Hall. The beautifully decorated trees were raffled off to 26 lucky winners.

Local businesses donated fully decorated, themed Christmas trees for the event. The trees are displayed for a week in the Carmichaels First United Methodist Churches Fellowship Hall.

There were 24 trees and 2 wreaths donated to the Extravaganza this year. The top three trees for sales were Snowball Bucks” donated by the Civic Club,  “Christmas at the Beach” donated by Nan Vue Nubian Farm, and “A Little Bit of Chocolate” donated by the Donaldson Family. A photo of the trees will be printed on posters and displayed around town to honor the winners.

Winners of this year’s raffle were announced after Light Up Night in Carmichaels on Saturday, December 7. Tickets were pulled by Chloe Baker and Anthony Neff, while Mrs. Maddie Loring announced the winners via livestream on Facebook.

“I’ve been excited to take the reigns this year with the Extravaganza,” sais Nicole Baker. “We have such a nice group of ladies on the board that devote so much time and energy to this.” She adds, “I am so grateful for everyone that took the time to donate trees and their time to come out and enjoy this event with us. This is my first year running this event and it has been a wonderful experience. We had alot of unique and beautiful entries this year.”

The annual event is organized by the A.C.T.S (Arts, Crafts, Talents, and Services) Shop and raises funds for the Cumberland Township Food Bank. Each year the Cumberland Township Food Bank gathers all its resources to provide the best boxes for those in the community. The food provides plenty for the holiday season and upcoming winter.  With the new year approaching, funding to purchase goods becomes imperative. The event raised $3530 to donate to the Cumberland Township Food Bank this year.
