2019 Christmas Parade & Light Up Night

The holidays have arrived! And the best way to get into the Christmas spirit in Greene County is to celebrate with the annual Christmas parade, held by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce on December 7 in downtown Waynesburg. The execution of the Parade was underwritten by First Energy Foundation and without their support, this event would not happen. 

106 entries appeared on Saturday representing various schools, churches, civic organizations, and businesses from all over the county. The parade was streamed live on the Greene County Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page and is avilable there for those that missed it. 

Float Winners

1st – Team Seldom Seen, “Dashing Thru the Snow to Seldom Seen Farm We Go”

2nd  – WWJD Christian Church, “Love Came Down at Christmas”

3rd  – First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, “Christmas on the Arc”

Most Original – Waynesburg VFW Auxiliary, “Stockings for Soldiers”

Most Spirit – GCCTC Practical Nursing Program, “Christmas Morning”

Best Design – Richard Kronk’s 1930 Model A, “Santa’s Workshop”

The “Miss Merry Christmas” winners were also selected at this annual Christmas celebration. The 2019 Miss Merry Christmas line-up is Talia Teagarden– Waynesburg Central High School, Kam Dudas – Jefferson Morgan High School, Emilei Grimm – Mapletown High School, and Katelyn Brown – Carmichaels Area High School. 

The Greene County Chamber of Commerce thanks all those businesses and individuals who helped to make this year’s parade a success. Parade photos by Jeanine Henry. 

Congratulations also to the Holiday Open House Window Decoratingand Ugly Sweater winners from Light Up Night, held the night before the parade. Window Decorating Winners:  1st –  Mickey’s Mens Store, 2nd – First Federal S&L of Greene County, 3rd – High Street Hair, Community Choice – First Federal S&L of Greene County. Ugly Sweater Winners: Under 15 –  Erin Harbarger, Adult– Cathleen Cochran, Adult Runner Up – John Buchcanan.
